Happy Hump Day!

Welcome to Wednesday! Last night was date night.  Mike and I go out for dinner and drinks every other week.  Having a dedicated night just for the two of us is very important to the two of us, so I need to find a way to work it into my adventure to healthy.  Last night was probably not the best way...

I consumed way too many points (all of my weekly allotment) .  But, I have the rest of the week to adjust.  My next weigh in is Tuesday, 1/11.

This morning I skipped breakfast.  I was running late so breakfast lost out.  I need to set my new iHome alarm clock 10 minutes earlier to allow time for me to grab a healthy bite.

Lunch was eaten in waves.  First course around 1p consisted of a kale salad.

I've got to start making myself leave this place at lunch during the day.

Later in the afternoon, I had another cup of the delicious OSG Spicy Rainbow Rice & Bean Salad along with a tangelo.

Dinner will be at home tonight.  We're making Cooking Light's Pan-Grilled Flank Steak with Chermoula.  It sounds yummy.

I need to make sure I have 2 more veggies today and drink at least 2 more glasses of water.  I plan to hit the treadmill tomorrow and begin logging my activity points.

The adventure continues...

The adventure begins!

Today is the first day of my adventure to healthy and I'm actually pretty stoked!

I started out the day with a quick check of the scales.  When I saw the number, I actually was relieved it wasn't higher after 2 weeks of complete over indulgence!  But I'm still faced with the fact that I'm up 10 pounds from my lowest point in 2010 after completing Chalean Extreme.

I told myself that this year is going to be different.  I'm not going to beat myself up over what the scale says.  I'm not going to give up. I'm not going to self doubt.  I'm going to move on with my adventure to healthy.  If I keep doing things that are good for me by taking care of my body then I will see and feel the difference.  I'm planning to take "before" pics this weekend and will hopefully have the courage to post them.

After weighing, I made a Green Monster - this one consisted of 2 handfuls of spinach, 5 frozen strawberries, a banana, 1 T flax seed, 1 c. milk and 1 T sf/ff white chocolate pudding.  It was pretty tasty - you just have to get past the color! It's not a cute green like Mike Wazowski!

For lunch, I ate at my desk at work - ugh

I had a kale salad with broccoli, walnuts, feta and raisins along with leftovers of this awesome meal - OSGs Spicy Rainbow Rice & Bean Salad.  I was DeeeLISH!

Tonight is date night for Mike and me - I know sushi will be on the agenda and probably a few beers watching the Sugar Bowl on the big screen at Flying Saucer!I can't believe that I'm actually going to write this (being the die hard Gamecock fan that I am) but here it goes...Go Razorbacks!

And the adventure continues...
